Painting is both the best and the worst thing in my life. A successful painting is my biggest pride, a failed one my worst enemy. And because I like to paint with great risk, I mess up quite often. But I like the challenge of letting the painting get out of my control, and then try to regain it.
I paint from pictures I took while traveling or walking around in Amsterdam. I often combine pictures to tell a different story and to make the scenes stranger. Whatever I paint, it always gets quite dramatic and dreamy.
I paint with oil, acrylic and I sometimes use crayons, charcoal and pencil on top. I also used to use flour in my paint, but I stopped that because the mice in my studio seemed to love flour.
